Joint Support

Q: What is the source of Glucosamine?
A: Glucosamine is traditionally sourced from the hard shells of shellfish. Those allergic to shellfish have been concerned over a possible allergic reaction to glucosamine. Allergic reaction has not been reported as a practical concern, probably because the allergens are in the meat and the extraction process is able to denature any extraneous flesh protein. However, it must be recognized that individuals sometimes display profound sensitivity where it is not expected. If there is concern over possible allergic reaction, especially if anaphylactic reactions are possible, please consult with your health care provider before commencing use.

Q: Is there a vegetarian sourced Glucosamine?
A: Yes. Webber Natural™ now offers a vegetarian sourced Glucosamine HCl that is derived from corn.

Q: Does Glucosamine Sulfate contain Sodium?
A: Glucosamine sulfate does contain sodium. Glucosamine sulfate contains sodium salt as a stabilizer to prevent problematic moisture absorption at the initial stage of production. If you are on a sodium restricted diet we recommend you to use the sodium-free version, which uses potassium chloride.

Q: Has there been any studies on the effectiveness of Glucosamine?
A: Yes.  Glucosamine is the number 1 natural supplement recommended for Osteoarthritis sufferers.  Glucosamine has been extensively studied, and many studies have shown Glucosamine can repairs cartilage, reduce pain from arthritis and even slow down the progression of osteoarthritis.

Q: How does Glucosamine and Chondroitin work?
A: Glucosamine and Chondroitin sulfates work together to arrest cartilage deterioration by stimulating greater concentrations of collagen and proteoglycans, and taming the breakdown enzymes.  The dual actions of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate treat the underlying basis of Osteoarthritis at the cellular level, unlike pain killer that just relieved pain or reduce inflammation.  Symptoms of osteoarthritis gradually subside.

Q: How long does it take for Glucosamine to Work?
A:  The rebuilding process is slow and gradual.  A minimum of 8 weeks supplementation is required before beneficial effects are seen.

Q: If I suffer from allergies can I use Glucosamine Sulfate?
A: Yes. People cannot be allergic to pure sulfur or the sulfate form that is in glucosamine sulfate. People are allergic to three other related compounds. First, sulphites, used in the past as a preservative in vegetables, salads and fresh fruits. Another food preservative, sulfur dioxide. These both are known to cause allergies. Sulfa drugs, the third compound, is an early antibiotic to which many have developed allergies. None of these three compounds are found in glucosamine. Sulfur is an essential mineral used extensively in your hair, skin, nails, and tissue of the body. The sulfate in Glucosamine sulfate is a form of sulfur that is readily used in our body.

Q: What is Celadrin®?
A:  Celadrin® is an effective natural anti-inflammatory compounds that safely promotes flexibility and healthy joint function.  Significant results have been reported without any side effects.

Q: What is the source of Celadrin®?
A: Celadrin® is made from a proprietary blend of esterified fatty acids that are derived from bovine tallow oil.

Q: Is Celadrin® Safe?
A – Celadrin® is safe to take.  There are no known or reported negative reactions or side effects.

Vitamins

Q: How much Omega 3 is in Cod Liver Oil?
A: Cod Liver Oil is an excellent source of preformed vitamins A and D. It is especially useful for individuals with digestive problems since they may have difficulty converting Beta Carotene (provitamin A) into vitamin A. Although fish liver oils are excellent sources of preformed vitamin A, they should not be relied on as a source of Essential Fatty Acids such as DHA and EPA since they contain only trace amounts.  You would consume too much vitamin A and D before getting the required amounts of Essential Fatty Acids.  Excellent source of Essential Fatty Acids Webber Naturals™ Omega -3 super concentrate, Webber Naturals™ Flaxseed Oil and Webber Naturals™ Salmon and Wild Fish oil products.

Q: Can multivitamins cause urine to turn yellow?
A: multivitamin products can cause brightly coloured urine in some cases but this is perfectly harmless, and often due to the actual colour of some of the nutrients e.g. vitamin B2 and folic acid. However, if discoloration occurs every time water is passed, and also when the product is stopped for a couple of days, it may be worth seeking medical advice to ensure there is no other underlying cause.

Q: Can B12 1000mcg Sublingual be swallowed?
A: Oral supplementation with vitamin B12 is safe. The best approach is to dissolve a sublingual tablet of methylcobalamin (1000 micrograms) under the tongue every day. That will be sufficient to maintain adequate body stores.  If the tablet is being swallowed, the patient might not be getting adequate Vitamin B12.

Q: What is the source of Melatonin? Synthetic or animal sourced?
A:  Webber Naturals™ Melatonin is synthetically derived.

Digestive Products

Q: Does Acidophilus have to be refrigerated once opened?
A: Yes. If Webber Naturals™ Acidophilus is not refrigerated, it looses about 3% potency per month.

Weight Management- Metaslim Kit

Q: Is it safe to use those neutralizers not to lose weight but to eat twice as much and maintain weight?
A: Phase 2™, the carb neutralizer ingredient was used in human studies and subjects were given standardized or recommended meal plans. The carbohydrates consumed per meal, were based on an average meal size, not twice as much as one person would consume at a meal. Doses taken above the manufactures label recommendation may cause intestinal discomfort, gas or loose stools. Otherwise, Phase2 is well tolerated.
Our Metaslim products are to be used in conjunction with a health eating plan and regular exercise.  A healthy diet is based on the inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain, lean protein, and low fat dairy product.  Sugar and salt, added to many prepared and packaged foods should be avoided.  A reduction of daily calories by reducing portion size, eliminating high calorie, nutrient poor foods contribute to a healthy diet and weight control.

Q: How does it work?
A: One gram of the purified alpha-amylase inhibitor extract will prevent the digestion of approximately 562.5 grams of dietary starch.

During the digestive process, your body converts carbohydrates found in starchy foods such as potatoes and pasta, into sugar.  Your body breaks down starchy foods with the help of an enzyme called alpha amylase that is produced in the pancreas.

These sugar calories are either burned off, through exercise, or stored in fat cells for future use.  Unfortunately, inactivity means that these stored fat cells accumulate.  The result is weight gain.

Phase 2™ /Phaseolamin, an all natural nutritional ingredient extracted from white kidney beans, “neutralizes” the digestive enzyme alpha amylase before it can convert starch into glucose and then fat.  Essentially, this allows the starch to pass through the system undigested.

Q: Do I take them with all meals, or just starchy meals?
A: Phaseolamin 2250 works against starch, but most meals contain at least a small amount of starch, even if it’s not obvious.  For example, many vegetables contain starch (example; potatoes, carrots, legumes), and some fruits (bananas).

Cassia nomame contains compounds that can block lipase, the enzyme that digest fat.  By blocking lipase actions, Cassia nomame significantly reduces the amount of fat that is absorbed by your body when you eat

Gymnema sylvestre helps to block the absorption of sugar as well as enhance blood sugar regulation.  This is important in curbing appetite and keeping the body burning fat between meals.

Q: When Should I take it?
A: The most optimum time to take Metaslim-Carb Neutralizer and Fat Blocker is just before a starch-rich meal along with water.  We recommend at least 30 minutes prior to your first meal therefore ensuring that the enzyme inhibitor has had time to work.

If taken during or just after a starch-rich meal, Metaslim-Carb Neutralizer and Fat Blocker could still provide some of its starch “neutralizing” benefits

Q: How much time does one pill last?
A: One Capsule is effective to block the starch calories that are present at any one meal or snack.

Q: Are there any adverse side effects?
A: No Adverse side effect report. Metaslim-Carb Neutralizer and Fat Blocker should not be used by those with ileal perfusion as indigested starch may cause nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting.  This product is designed to promote fat utilization for energy by reducing available dietary carbohydrate. Some users may experience a short time of fatigue while the body is required to increase the enzymes that expedite fat fueling.

Q: What are the interactions?
A: Phaseolamin 2250 and Gymnema sylvestre are able to potentate oral hypoglycemic medications and/ or insulin and could cause hypoglycemia when the dosages of such medications and or insulin are not appropriately reduced to avoid over treatment.

Q: Does it interact with the Birth Control Pill?
A: NO. But if you are concerned, we recommend taking the birth control pill at night time.

Q: Does Green Tea Extract contain caffeine?
A: Yes.  30 mg of Caffeine per 200mg capsule.

Whey Protein

Q: What is Whey Protein?
A:Whey Protein a by-product of cheese manufacturing: supports protein synthesis and muscle development. Depending on the method of production, whey products can vary in the amount lactose, minerals, fat and proteins (including lactoferrin, beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactalbumin, glycomacropeptide, and immunoglobulins). Whey is a popular dietary protein supplement because it contains a full spectrum of essential amino acids and high concentration of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA). Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins that are essential to human metabolism, growth and development. BCAAs-leucine, isoleucine, and valine are needed for the maintenance of muscle tissue, preserving muscle stores of glycogen (a storage form of carbohydrate) and helping to prevent muscle protein breakdown during exercise. BCAA are readily oxidized as an energy source during stress.

Q: What is the source of Whey Protein and how is it Manufactured?
A: Webber Naturals™ Low Carb Whey Protein is sourced from pasteurized milk and is cross-flow ultra-filtered and micro-filtered at low temperature to create a high quality low fat and low lactose protein. The processing at low temperatures ensures that the final product is free of denatured material.

Q: Is Webber Naturals Whey Protein Genetically Modified (GMO)?
A: Webber Naturals™ Whey Protein is NON GMO

Q: Is there a difference between whey protein concentrate and isolate?
A: Yes. Whey protein isolate is the most pure and concentrated form of whey protein available. It contains 90% or more protein and very little (if any) fat and lactose. As the protein level in whey protein concentrate decreases the amounts of fat and/or lactose usually increase.

Q: How much protein does a person need each day?
A: Protein requirements vary from individual to individual depending on: age, weight, sex, activity level and overall health. For example athletes may need more protein than the recommended dietary allowance, or RDA.

Q: How does whey protein compare to soy protein?
A: Some differences include:

  • Whey protein is a nutritionally complete protein. It contains bioactive ingredients, like immunoglobulins and lactoferrin, that help support the immune system.
  • Whey protein is often preferred source of protein because it is abundantly rich in branched chain amino acids

Q: What is Soy Protein?
A: Soy protein provides a healthy way to get non-animal protein into your diet. It is great tasting, natural and can have a wide range of healthy effects on the body.
